This study investigates the accelerating geopolitical transformations taking place within the Southern Arabian Peninsula region in 2026, with a specific focus on analyzing the strategic policies of the Arab Gulf states (notably Saudi Arabia and the UAE) in managing the impact of mounting international polarization and ongoing tensions with the Islamic Republic of Iran in this pivotal geographic scope. The primary objective is to deconstruct how the regional sub-system responds to systemic structural pressures from the global environment, and to evaluate the impact of these volatile dynamics in the southern peninsula on overall regional stability and the resilience of previous de-escalation agreements, most notably the 2023 Beijing Accord. To achieve these goals, the study adopts a comparative methodology coupled with geopolitical analysis, utilizing systems analysis and Regional Security Complex Theory as explanatory frameworks to assess the efficacy of strategic hedging options and comprehensive developmental security approaches implemented by Gulf capitals to cool surrounding crises. The study concludes that the Southern Arabian Peninsula remains a primary arena for global-regional systemic friction, cyber complexities, and hybrid threats. This friction has produced a highly fluid security architecture that transcends traditional bilateral arrangements due to the organic interdependence between Arabian Gulf security and adjacent maritime straits in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The study recommends the institutionalization of joint security dialogue, transforming temporary agreements into sustainable cooperative frameworks driven from within the region, and directing future research toward safeguarding the digital sovereignty of critical infrastructure and international shipping lanes.
