By the great Yemeni poet, Abdullah Al-Bardouni
| What does poetry say? How does it rhyme? | Beauty shouted: How does the inspired sing? |
| What does poetry sing? How does it wander? | This beauty? Where does it wander? |
| In every direction a dancing spring | And in every atmosphere a thousand smiling dawns |
| Oh, the drunkard of poetry, this is his day | A melody scattered by the sun and gathered |
| The day you meet schools and hopes | Drunk as he met his beloved, infatuated |
| A day when silence is almost wasted by our singing | In it, the mute improvises the anthem. |
| A day that will be blessed and has a tomorrow | Here I am, filled with beauty and melody |

| Oh, the leap of “Happy Yemen” has awakened | Young and handsome as expected |
| What does beloved Yemen see achieved? | The highest of desires and the greatest of what one can imagine |
| The signs of morning opened his eyelids | His bed split open and sleep arose |
| He woke up with determination filling his eyes | Angry breaks his chains and growls |
| And his youth passed by in the flash of life | Awake swimming in the beam and dreaming |

| And the "Day of Knowledge" appeared, adorned with splendor. | As if he was singing with the mouth of life |
| The day the schools taught him his upbringing | A lesson that life teaches and inspires |
| History repeats his memory in: | His lips questioned and smiled |
| The day I sing it and it gets drunk | My tune is so sweet that it makes your mouth water |

| Youth stand up for youth and all of them | Full of confidence and pride in the championship |
| At the science festival, he raised his youth | Like a flower whispering and muttering its fragrance |
| And the learners shone... as if they were | It contains the rays, the sky, and the stars. |
| *** | |
| Oh, the proud youth of Yemen and its dream | The fruit of genius is before you, so advance. |
| And they braved the dangerous road to heaven | The danger of young men being intrusive |
| Build yourselves with the palm of knowledge, for | Adopting the palm of knowledge does not destroy it |
| They asked who we are? What is our history? | And they learned ambition from him and taught |
| *** | |
| This is the country and you are its heart | You and I helped her |
| So jump up as life jumps up strong | The youth are leaping forward |
| Only the enlightened are guided by knowledge. | The joy of insight is infatuated with science |
| And a boy who people feel for because he | Blood flows from every part of his body |
| He works hard to make his mother or the world happy | The fragrance of the message is burning and pain |
| Understand what is behind every cover | The truth is his path and understanding |
| A thief may wear modesty and be clothed | The Prophet's garment is a hypocrite or a criminal |
| A dead man paints his conscience | And despite its paint, it exudes what it conceals |
| *** | |
| How amazing is this man's fullness | Good and evil are embodied in it! |
| This person's heart is not the same | A stone and this is a burning candle |
| This is so-and-so, a nightingale in his heart | He sings and this is where a lion roars |
| How strange the world is to her embrace | A wedding sings it and a funeral cries! |
| A house where mice die behind its wall | Hungry and home full of tables |
| A pampered hand that is burdened with its wealth | And he keeps kissing her and giving to the needy |
| *** | |
| When does a person see a fresh world? | Allow me, no injustice and no oppressor? |
| My brothers, today is the start of school | The firstborn of the country, honor him |
| And understand the journey of life, for it is all | Travel, study, and time is my teacher |
| What can I say to you, under your eyes? | What does the noble consciousness understand and comprehend? |
