Science is the basic foundation for building the future, and religion is the regulatory system for the conduct of life in optimal ways, away from transgressions. When science combines with religion, this constitutes a great force through which society can improve its standards of living and its lofty morals. This is what happens when creating libraries of multiple sciences, explaining and interpreting religion, and an example of this is the library of the Prophet’s Mosque.

The library of the Prophet’s Mosque is considered one of the most famous religious and scientific libraries due to its connection to its geographical location, which is the Prophet’s Mosque, in addition to its important and significant status in the collections of scholars, researchers, interested people, and other visitors and visitors of this library.

The Library of the Prophet’s Mosque was established in 1352 AH, in one of the halls of the Prophet’s Mosque, and then expanded and was developed to include three halls on the second floor of the same mosque. The library contains 43 thousand books, divided into 71 categories, translated into 36 different languages.

The library includes two independent sections, one for men, and the other for women. Each section provides its services in distinct ways that keep pace with scientific information developments, which in turn helps provide beneficiaries - of various age and educational levels - with the religious, scientific, and other science information they need. For the Two Holy Mosques, in addition to the library’s many features, there are specialized units for the elderly and children.

The library also provides welcome gifts to visitors and children, including CD tapes, book covers, and audio recordings explaining the text of the ajārūmiya, in addition to many different symbolic gifts.

The Library of the Prophet’s Mosque also launches various and diverse programs. Such as the Arabic Language Day, the art of Arabic calligraphy, and religious educational programs in which a number of eminent scholars lecture on the Holy Prophet’s Body, and this is what made the library a shrine and a destination for all knowledgeable people, readers, and others who reside in the land of the Kingdom, or expatriates and seekers of knowledge from abroad. The library currently occupies a prominent position among the libraries of the Arab world as a whole, and not just the libraries of the Kingdom, because of its absolute importance in providing the information necessary for research and studies in the Islamic world. It is considered a cultural and intellectual reference, and a witness to the truth of the Islamic religion, its teachings, and its books.
