The Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education announced that scholarships for Iraqi universities will soon open by April 2024. These scholarships will be available for all 53 Iraqi public and private universities.
The Ministry also announced that the number of available scholarships amounts to (5784) scholarships.
Applications are submitted to each university individually via the "Study in Iraq" portal, which was launched in 2023. This step is significant after the suspension of international scholarships to Iraq following the events of 2003.
Some Iraqi universities are ranked among the top 1,500 universities in the world by the British QS rankings and the Times Higher Education rankings.
The scholarships provide free study, health insurance, university housing, and tuition fees in all majors without exception.
It is worth noting that the number of students who enrolled in the scholarships in the first year of its launch was 3,019 students.
