After the events of 2003...the “Study in Iraq” initiative was launched by 53 public and private universities

The Ministry of Higher Education in Iraq announced the imminent opening of scholarships for Iraqi universities by April 2024, for all Iraqi public and private universities, the number of which has reached 53.

The Ministry also announced that the number of scholarships available reaches (5,784) scholarships.

Applications are made to each university separately through the “Study in Iraq“, which was launched in 2023, as this step is important after the cessation of international scholarships to Iraq following the events of 2003.

Some Iraqi universities are academically ranked among the top 1,500 universities in the world in the British QS classification and the Times classification.

The scholarships provide a free academic seat, in addition to health insurance, university housing, and study in all specializations without exception.

It is worth noting that the number of students who enrolled in the scholarships in the first year of its opening was 3,019 students.
