The study aimed to identify the most important reasons for the low level of academic achievement of students in the third cycle of basic education in Dhamar Governorate in the Arabic language from the point of view of their teachers. To achieve the study’s objective, the researcher prepared a questionnaire to identify the most important reasons that affect their academic achievement from the point of view of their teachers, consisting of (48) paragraphs falling under three areas. After ensuring its validity and reliability, it was applied to a sample of Arabic language teachers in Dhamar Governorate consisting of (93) teachers. After collecting and analyzing the data and using appropriate statistical methods, the study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: The most important reasons affecting the level of academic achievement of students in the Arabic language from the point of view of their teachers came in first place related to the family and to a very large degree, followed by reasons related to the school environment and to a very large degree as well, and finally reasons related to the learner himself to a large degree. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at a significance level of (0.05%) between the points of view of teachers about the reasons affecting academic achievement according to the variables of academic qualification (university graduates after high school - university graduates after Diploma) and years of experience (1-10 years, 10 years or more).
