The Spanish Weber Metrics University Rankings released a report on Yemeni universities in the second half of 2018. The report revealed negative results, most notably the global decline of some Yemeni universities after a full year.
The report showed that the University of Science and Technology maintained its first place among 47 Yemeni universities, while its ranking declined on both the Arab and international levels. Its ranking fell from 119th to 156th place among 988 Arab higher education institutions, and from 3784th to 4380th place among more than 28,000 universities.
As for research, WeberMetrics did not include any Yemeni universities on its list.
Hadhramout University Council member Dr. Hadoun bin Ali Al-Attas pointed out during the press interview conducted by\u00a0Akabars<\/strong>\u00a0He pointed out that international academic ranking bodies are misleading indicators in terms of measurement and evaluation due to their unfairness, pointing out that: We have highly qualified faculty members, but the financial aspect prevents them from participating.

Webermetrics is a global university ranking published by the Spanish Centre for University and Institute Evaluation (CSIC), part of the Spanish Ministry of Education. It was launched in February 2004.\u00a0
CSIC was founded in 1939 from a previous body created in 1907 under the leadership of Professor Ram\u00f3n y Cajal.
This classification is based on all its criteria electronically, as the team does not visit the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ranking criteria for university websites include four aspects: size and the files the website contains, references to research in Google Scholar, and overall impact through other links leading to the university website.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Webermetrics is considered one of the lowest-ranked global rankings, surpassed only by the Chinese Shanghai Ranking, followed by the British Times and QS, and finally the American US-NEWS.
Yemeni universities have gradually dropped out of all limited international academic rankings, with the British QS organization considering the research output of Yemeni universities to be weak.
As for the American US-NEWS, the majority of Yemeni universities graduated from it by 2016, with the exception of Sana'a University, which ranked 111th out of 124 Arab universities in 19 Arab countries. The ranking is based on 13 indicators that measure their performance and reputation in the field of academic research.
As for Shanghai and the Times, Yemeni universities have not yet been included in it, because the Times classification only includes 1,000 universities, while Shanghai only includes 500 universities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
