This study investigates the current geopolitical shifts in the Red Sea region, focusing specifically on the strategic policies of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding emerging maritime threats between 2023 and 2026. The study aims to analyze how regional powers respond to the “militarization” of waterways and the impact of these responses on regional balances and previous de-escalation agreements. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the study evaluates the impact of these policies on maritime security and regional stability. It concludes that the Red Sea has become an arena for “strategic pressure,” reshaping collective security dynamics in the region and imposing a new reality that transcends traditional bilateral understandings.
